Clean isn't the spec. SP 10 with an anchor profile is the spec.

How we clean it
The method
Abrasive blasting is the core. SSPC-SP 10 / NACE 2 near-white is the specified prep for most marine epoxy, and the coating warranty depends on hitting both that grade and the profile. Hydroblast for hull washing and salt removal, with soluble salt testing before recoat. Dry ice for engine rooms and electrical spaces where grit is unacceptable.
What it costs you
Why it matters
A coating failure means the vessel comes back — recoat plus lost availability. Naval and USCG contracts carry inspection hold points, and the surface prep report is a contract deliverable.
